Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1 · Novi Sad → Višegrad → Sarajevo

Departure at 9:30. A stop in Višegrad — the Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge (16th c., UNESCO) and Andrićgrad. Then along the Prača river canyon to Sarajevo, with dinner and ćevapi in the old town.

Day 2 · Sarajevo

A walking day: the Latin Bridge (the 1914 shot), Baščaršija, the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, traces of the 1992–95 siege. Cable car up Trebević or a climb to the Yellow Fortress for a panorama of the city.

Day 3 · Sarajevo → Konjic → Blagaj → Neum

The Old Bridge in Konjic, the dervish tekke in Blagaj, lunch with river trout and — water permitting — a boat into the cave. Evening in Neum, Bosnia's only stretch of the Adriatic.

Day 4 · Neum → Kravica → Počitelj → Mostar

Kravica Waterfall (peak flow in spring). Medieval Počitelj on a slope above the Neretva — stone staircases, a tower with a view. Evening in Mostar and the illuminated Old Bridge.

Day 5 · Mostar → Jajce → Novi Sad

The Pliva waterfall in the centre of Jajce, wooden watermills on the lakes, the fortress of the last Bosnian king. Return to Novi Sad via Banja Luka in the evening.
