About the tour

What's in store

Medieval Serbia is easier to grasp along a route than by dates. This tour lays it out as cause and effect: day one lives in the age of Prince Lazar — among spiritual centres, defensive lines and the old capital. Day two carries the story on under Despot Stefan. In between, a night in a guest house and the living link between people, places and decisions that a textbook usually loses.

  • Trace the shift from Prince Lazar's time to the age of Despot Stefan — through real places
  • See how power, faith and defence left their mark in stone and architecture
  • Build the historical picture through places and story, not a list of dates
  • Spend the evening in a guest house and continue the story the next day
  • Close the trip with a nature chapter in Resava — after the walls, the greenery feels good

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1 · The time of Prince Lazar

Monastic culture, defensive lines and town life of late-14th-century Serbia. We spend the evening in a guest house.

Day 2 · The time of Despot Stefan

We carry the story into the next age — from fortifications to book culture. In the afternoon we swap stone walls for a natural landscape and head back in the evening.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is this a monastery tour?

No. The monasteries and fortresses serve one story about Prince Lazar and Despot Stefan; the route also includes old towns and a nature finale.

Will there be tasks like in The Resava Code?

No. It uses an interactive timeline, but the tour isn't sold or run as a quest.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes, from 10. The narrative avoids academic overload, though the programme fills two full days.

Do I need special physical preparation?

No. Being ready for ordinary long walks is enough.

Can I go on my own?

Yes. You can join the group; sharing a room is only by consent.
